Coaxing Your Muse Out of Hiding
Hi there! Grace here for my turn at the helm.
Have you ever sat down to work and nothing comes to you? Almost like your mojo has decided to take a mini vacation and didn’t tell you? It can definitely be a scary time to sit and not be inspired to create. This has happened to me a time or two (or 10, lol) and, at first, it threw me for a loop. There have been days upon days of me not even stepping foot into my studio. Why? Because belief in my own creativity took a back seat and from there it was easy to let the doubt creep in.
How do I move through this?
What do I do to bring her back?
That's how this piece evolved. Clearing out an area I noticed a bunch of smaller canvases hidden behind a larger one stacked against the wall. Flipping thru them I began to feel the urge to create, but this time it was more about a canvas redo. You will see in the video the canvas was barely finished but a spark was lit when I saw it and I wanted to do more.
When it comes time for lost creativity try a redo on a previous work and watch your mojo come back to life once again.
What can you do an art journal redo on?
