Kiala Givehand | Kelly Johnson |
Kiala Givehand is a mixed media book artist, creative empowerment guide, and a business strategist for artists, writers, and creative entrepreneurs. She’s the creator of the Mixed Media Inspiration Deck, Generations Literary Journal, and the Book-in-a-Day series on YouTube. Kiala started calling herself an art journalist back in 2008 even though she’s been an avid journaler since the early 80’s and a diary keeper since she was about 9 years old. She’s always had an obsession with fountain pens and blank books, so when she learned that she could make her own books, her entire idea of journaling shifted. Kiala’s favorite art supplies are gesso, Liquitex Basics paint, a key card scraper, her fingers, and anything she can find in her kitchen or bathroom to make a mark and add some texture to a page. Visit her creative site at www.kialagivehand.com and her business site at CreativeBusinessStrategist.com, follow her on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook. Kiala is the curator here at howtoartjournal.com.

After 15 years of teaching Kelly was inspired to delve into the work of reconnecting children and nature. Her childhood was grounded in nature and as an adolescent she focused on environmental and social responsibility. Kelly has a BFA in photography and has created and exhibited her fine art and crafts in various settings, as well as an MA in Environmental Studies and is Montessori certified. She is a published author and just launched her first digital card set — Nature Journaling Cards. Kelly loves inspiring others.
